Use Broadcaster As A Virtual Camera

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This shows you how you would use XSplit Broadcaster as a Virtual Camera / Video Source if you were

to use applications that accept camera sources. For this example, we will use Skype.

1. Enable Virtual Camera Output

Click on Tools >> Settings >> General and check the box called "Enable Virtual Camera Output" then

click OK.

2. Open Skype

If your Skype is not running, start it up. If it's already open, then it’s just fine.

3. Select It As a Video Source

In Skype, click on Tools >> Options >> Video settings and from "Select webcam:" choose

"XSplit Broadcaster."

Now, if you share your camera with your friends in Skype, they will be able to see all of the sources

(screen regions, web cams and media files) you put in XSplit Broadcaster.

Note: You can also use XSplit Broadcaster as a virtual camera source for websites that accept

camera sources. Please refer to this blog post for more details.
